Birdwatching in the Sosnovka park

You’re someone who took up birds in the first place because they fired your imagination; they fascinated you because they seemed of all created beings the nearest to pure spirit — those little creatures with a normal temperature of 125 degrees. ‘That goldcrest, with a stomach no bigger than a bean, flies across the North Sea!‘” J.D. Salinger

One day many years ago I discovered a passion for birdwatching. I didn’t know back then what “birdwatching” was, but I found watching local birds rather fascinating. And when you do it with a camera it somehow resembles hunting, but without hurting any one of them (it’s a really strange example but anyway). Because birds move all the time, you need the patience to wait for them to appear and then you have to take photos quickly in a second before they fly away.
Sosnovka park is a rather large forest in the north of Saint Petersburg. It’s a great place for watching local birds, especially in spring.
